Time To Demo At Interbike

Good morning from hot and dusty Bootleg Canyon mountain bike park, home of Interbike's Outdoor Demo where dozens of exhibitors have set up a vendor village to wow the bike masses on the latest in bicycles and gear.

Bicycle Stories will be here all day to deliver you the scenes, where the temps are expected to soar into the high 90s and where hydration will be stressed all day long.

The River Mountains Trail runs right through Bootleg Canyon, so I came early to beat the traffic and more importantly bike on the trail before the demo kicks off.

It's a 35-mile loop that's a pedaling rollercoaster through Henderson, Boulder City, Lake Mead and Lake Las Vegas.

Ron Floth, a local transportation leader who works on bicycle outreach and education programs, rode with me on first river mountains loop ride some four years ago. Don't forget, trails can interact with local utilities and power neighbors.
