I'm at Mile 106.6 on the Great Lake O Bike Ride today, about 14 miles to paydirt. I'm grinding it out through Pahokee after facing firece winds out of the north. Those same NW winds that pushed me to 25 mph from Clewiston to South Bay are now battering me in my face, as I methodically push the bike at 12 mph.
That's the ting about this ride. It's amazingly fair -- sometimes there are headwinds -- and for every headwind there's a tailwind. That's life cycling around the Big O for 120 miles.
I'll be on Rt 441 soon at Canal Point and then it's a beeline along the Big Lake for Port Mayaca, my original starting point.
More later after I reach Port Mayaca.
