I'm for paved trails as much as the nice guy -- but not when the trail is simply a sidewalk.
Like this section of Bonanza Trail in Las Vegas.
When you bike east and are heading in this direction, you're pedaling on a sidewalk in front of a convenience store entrance/exit. Exiting drivers turning right won't see you and might broadside a bicyclist passing in front.
Most of Bonanza Trail is a typical paved trail. But using sidewalks around busy roads and intersections to connect pieces of Bonanza Trail could be dangerous.
Beware bicycling on sidewalks.
