This afternoon it was time to break out the road bike and bike across the Gandy Bridge. It was event-free experience. No Tampa police to stop me. Just headwinds out of the west.
Then I headed north on Roosevelt to Bayside Bridge and Clearwater and eventually Safety Harbor, going north of the Bay to Oldsmar and Hillsborough Avenue for the final leg home. It was a 51-mile ride.
The road in front of St. Pete-Clearwater Airport has a bike lane. Let's just say Pinellas County/St. Pete/Clearwater is a bit ahead of its sister county/city Hillsborough/Tampa across the Bay when it comes to bicycle conditions.
The Bayside Bridge. Nice cycling. Big shoulder.
Now that's a bridge. This tiny wooden one leads you into Philipe Park in Safety Harbor.
