Enjoying Some Bull On Today's Ride

Today's bike ride featured a pitstop before the big press conference at USF, where the new football coach Skip Holtz was introduced. He replaces Jim Leavitt, who started the football program way back when but got canned this month when an investigation concluded he grabbed a player by the throat during halftime of the USF-Louisville game and slapped him a couple times. That's a big no-no these days.

So, I soaked up some of the pre-press conference atmosphere.

That's nosetackle Eddie "Stubby" Spice who mingled with fans before the Skip Holtz press conference.

Ooh, for a moment I thought I was on Wall Street.

Like any campus, USF has an array of beater Huffys and Roadmasters.

But check out this sweet ride that was locked up among the beater bikes! Love the seat and handlebars.

On the way home at North Boulevard and Waters, I bumped into bike tourist Earl Stine, who sent me a terrific photo gallery from his Maryland Eastern Shore bike trip. Great photos, Earl.

Speaking of bike touring, don't forget SWFBUD member store Carrollwood Bicycle Emporium is hosting Jim Sayer, Director of the Adventure Cycling Association, on Saturday (Jan. 16) from 5:30 PM to 7 PM. Feel free to attend. If you plan to come, please RSVP by contacting Beth Petersen at Adventure Cycling Association at 800-755-2453 x 211, or via email at bpetersen@adventurecycling.org.

Also, good to see Jack (Ghost Rider) Sweeney on the road near Seminole Heights Elementary School today.
