Curious about how the Pinellas Trail was created?
Sadly, it took the death of a bicyclist to serve as the catalyst.
Bert Vallery's son died in a bicycle accident and Vallery, a Pinellas County resident, was inspired to convert the CSX line into a safe trail for bicyclists, joggers and rollerbladers.
I just pray that bicyclists don't have to die in Tampa for city government to build infrastructure for cyclists.
