Bicyclist dies in Tuesday night crash
HUDSON -- A 32-year-old Hudson man died Tuesday night when a car hit his bicycle, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
Around 6:20 p.m., Rocky L. Payton was riding his bike east on Bolton Avenue just east of Omaha Street. Troopers said Paul F. Beaupre Jr. was driving behind Payton in a 1992 Plymouth van but failed to notice him.
Beaupre struck Payton's bike from behind, and Payton was thrown onto the van's hood and then to the ground, troopers said. He died at the scene.
Troopers said Payton was not wearing a helmet. No charges have been filed.

"Failed to notice"... if that's a legitimate excuse, I think I'm going to leave this state...
I talked to the officers who were on the scene, and in there words. Paul Beaupre hit Rocky, felt the bump, kept driving, noticed his windshield was broken, then came back to the scene, "to find the kids throwing rocks!!" and to make matters even better, they didn't even test his blood alcohol, or give the kid a drug test!! Florida's finest at work
update;
I talked to F.H.P. yesterday, They're NOT going to charge Paul with ANYTHING! I was told that he didn't do anything wrong!! That he only has to go to traffic court!! Thanks F.H.P. for a job will done!
