Snowbird Cyclist Rides The Flatwoods Loop

He's 75 years old, but he's no slowpoke on a bike.

Paul Ostrander, a snowbird from Pella, Iowa where they make those windows, was cruising nicely around the Flatwoods seven-mile loop when I caught up with the retired schoolteacher.

Paul was wearing a Carrollwood Bicycle Emporium jersey and riding a carbon Trek Pilot, spinning at a nice rate.

He winters in Lutz, but does four laps at Flatwods to keep in shape. He used to be a schoolteacher, but then worked as a ranger for the US Army Corps of Engineers -- and he even knows a fellow ranger from Iowa who did an assignment at the Lake Okeechobee earthern berm that surrounds the Big Lake.

Keep riding Paul!
