Hub Grub Bicycle Ride Route Good To Go


I did a test run of the Hub Ride course and it's a little bit of everything -- great restaurants, a few surprise twists to the route and hopefully a lot of fun on May 22 from 3-6 PM.

The whole route is about 7.5 miles. Here's the line-up. The restuarant stops are approximate times.

3 PM: Garden Center, 5800 Central Ave., The Hub Grub begins.

3:10 PM, Mile 1: Reservations Gourmet-To-Go, Nebraska/Osborne. Owners Anthony and Elke are in the leadoff position and are ready to get the ride off to a delicious start.

3:40, Mile 1.8: Starbucks, Hillsborough/Central. Manager Tiffany says come on over, they'll be ready.

4:10, Mile 2.9: Viitals, specialty bakery, Florida Ave.: Owner Ivan can't wait for the Hub Grub to pull up.

4:30, Mile 3.6: Smokin' A's BBQ
, Hanna/Florida: Owner Alex is the new kid on the block and will be ready with samples of BBQ and bottled water.

4:55, Mile 4: Front Porch
, Florida Ave.: Lisa says the staff will be ready for Hub Grub!

5:25, Mile 6: Ella's, Nebraska Ave.: We're biking through Ella's. Big Ernie the owner will be ready with snacks.

5:50, Mile 7.2 : The Refinery, Florida Ave., owners Michelle and Greg are happy to be on the tour.

6 PM: Mile 7.3: The Independent, Florida Ave.: Owner Veronica says $1 off beers!
